Basil St John is a character from Dale Messicks popular newspaper comics called Brenda Starr reporter that ran for many many years and had quite a following. This is an incredible detailed safari style Hunt For Black Orchid outfit made by Tonner Doll Co about 2004 for Basil. It has NRFB and is hard to find. It fits the 17 Matt body. The jacket and pants are made of a fine olive linen, The jacket is lined in white, long sleeved and snaps at the cuff, four pockets with buttons on the flaps of each, belted at the waist with a silver buckle, the pants are cuffed and have a real zipper in the front, olive pith helmet, white t shirt and dark green socks, zippered heavy black boots! Original box has a little shelf wear.

This is a simply beautiful Brenda Starr reporter/journalist doll from Robert Tonner. This doll is very difficult to find now, she is dated 2003 on her stamped head. The doll is simply beautiful, with beautifully hand-painted face details, and features a pencil perched in her hair bun with side twirls. The doll is dressed in a tweed skirt suit in very good condition. Her jacket is missing one button on the front and the ankle strap on one shoe has come loose. Apart from that she is in wonderful condition. The doll herself is in excellent condition without damage. Sadly she is without a box or certificate.
