Tonner Tyler Wentworth 1/4 Embassy Dinner Mei Li 16 Doll TW4202 SIGNED
This is Tonner’s 16″ Mei Li doll, part to the Tyler Wentworth series, the flagship 16″ doll which ran until Tonner closed in 2018. Tonner was known for designing high quality vinyl dolls, with a painstaking eye for detail. Tyler and her cohorts set the standard for other 16 fashion dolls, with articulated elbows and knees and a wardrobe full of luxury fabrics such as silk, linen and cashmere. The Tyler series included other characters such as Mei, Sydney and Esme, and they all share the same body. Other 16 doll outfits such as those by the Franklin Mint, All About Eve, or Madame Alexander’s Alex should also fit her body sculpt. This is the “Embassy Dinner” Mei Li doll, released in 2002 as a limited edition of 2000 pieces. It features Mei Li in a brilliant green and gold brocade peekaboo back dress accessorized with a rhinestone studded belt, beaded necklace, and simple black shoes. She has a very stylish and timeless straight black bob and an elegant face makeup suitable for any occasion.

Sometimes if my children interrupt during listing, I may even miss something major, it does not happen often, but has on the rare occasion.

It features Esme in a mod inspired red belted bodycon dress with black shoes and sunglasses, and a portfolio prop. I don’t believe she has ever been displayed. The doll’s hair is well styled and her clothing shows no signs of fading. All pieces appear to be present. The box has some cosmetic damage to the surface from storage but is otherwise sturdy and in decent shape. Paper elements may have some discoloration. Some artificial materials or elastics might have degraded over time but were not tested.

Tonner has long been known for designing high quality vinyl dolls, with a painstaking eye for detail. Their outfits are the highest quality in design, material and construction. Tyler Wentworth was their most popular 16 fashion doll and has an extensive collection of clothing and accessories made of premium materials such as silk, linen and cashmere. This is the “Weekend Retreat” outfit, 20833 released in 2000. It’s a cozy cold weather outfit with a warm red hooded peacoat with a belt and black trim. Underneath is a cream cable knit sweater and classic regular fit blue jeans. It’s accessorized by a houndstooth tote style bag, black ankle boots with socks and a pair of sunglasses. Outfit has never been removed from packaging. Clothing and accessories are complete and look clean and in new condition. Box has scuffs from storage. Some discoloration may be present on paper elements. Artificial materials or elastics may be weak or degraded from age and were not tested for their integrity.
