Some of us older collectors probably have fond memories of waiting patiently for the mailman to bring the month’s newest McCall’s magazine. We were very excited because we knew inside was a special treat for us! Each month starting in 1951 all the way up to 1994 there was one special page for little ones that was paper dolls to cut out about Betsy McCall and her family adventures. The McCall vinyl dolls were very popular and Betsy was available in many sizes. Robert Tonner brought these lovely dolls back for the next generations. This is the 14 version. She is all vinyl with joints at the neck, arms and legs. Betsy has brunette hair and brown eyes. We are sending Betsy to you with two original outfits. The “Rainy Day” outfit has a pastel floral theme with a raincoat, umbrella and yellow rain boots. This set is in good condition with the exception of one of her boots has some orange discoloration on the top of the boot. It did not come off with a damp cloth. Betsy Learns to Sew is the other outfit. It consists of a dress with a print of spools of thread and a bow at the neck that looks like a measuring tape. There is also a little pair of fake metal scissors attached to the dress, a pair of white tights, a pair of glasses, and a pair of black suede shoes. All these things along with her wrist tag and the little paper booklet will be neatly tucked inside an original Betsy McCall “School Girl” box inside the “School Girl” shipper box that was used as a shipper and will be used as the shipper to send to you..
