This is Tonner’s Sydney Chase doll, part of the Tyler Wentworth series, the flagship 16 doll which ran until Tonner closed in 2018. Tonner was known for designing high quality vinyl dolls, with a painstaking eye for detail. Tyler and her cohorts set the standard for other 16 fashion dolls, with articulated elbows and knees and a wardrobe full of luxury fabrics such as silk, linen and cashmere. Other 16 doll outfits such as those by the Franklin Mint, All About Eve, or Madame Alexander’s Alex should also fit her body sculpt. This is the “Firebird” doll, released in 2002 as a limited edition of 1500 pieces. It features Sydney in a rust red gown with gold macrame and highlights, with a bohemian brocade faux fur trimmed jacket She has a styled medium brown updo with beaded jewelry.
