Tonner’s Florentine from the Tyler Wentworth collection is an exceptionally striking 2002 limited-edition fashion doll, produced in an edition of 1,500. At approximately 16 tall, she features the classic Tyler Wentworth sculpt on the Tyler Original/BA body with a tan skintone, painted brown eyes, and rooted brown/red hair. Her hair deserves special attention. Florentine has an extraordinary abundance of tightly arranged curls with beautiful depth and warm reddish-brown highlights. The dramatic hairstyle creates a luxurious frame around her face and is one of the strongest visual features of this doll. The outfit is equally spectacular. Florentine wears a fitted cream brocade ensemble covered with intricate gold floral embroidery and colorful accents in pink, turquoise, green, and complementary tones. Small pearl-like beads and additional decorative embellishments are scattered throughout the fabric, giving the entire ensemble tremendous texture and visual interest. An oversized ivory faux-fur collar surrounds the neckline and shoulders, while matching faux-fur cuffs finish the long sleeves. The combination of the ornate brocade and sweeping fur trim gives Florentine a wonderfully opulent couture appearance. Her accessories include a gold-tone necklace and coordinating gold-tone earrings. White lace-up high-heel boots complete the ensemble, and the original-style Tonner display stand shown with the doll is included. The Tonner hang tag shown in the photographs is also included. Florentine has 9 Point Articulation, allowing movement at the head/neck, both shoulders, both elbows, both hips, and both knees. This gives collectors considerably more posing flexibility while preserving the elegant proportions of the original Tyler body. Produced in 2002, Florentine now qualifies as a vintage collectible under the 20-year standard. Her LE 1500 production, elaborate textile work, dramatic hair, and distinctive fur-trimmed ensemble make her an especially memorable early Tyler Wentworth release. This listing includes the Florentine doll, complete pictured outfit, faux-fur trimmed ensemble, necklace, earrings, white lace-up boots, Tonner hang tag, and display stand. This is Tonner’s 16″ Tyler Wentworth doll, the flagship 16″ doll which ran until Tonner closed in 2018. Tonner was known for designing high quality vinyl dolls, with a painstaking eye for detail. She set the standard for other 16 fashion dolls, with articulated elbows and knees and a wardrobe full of luxury fabrics such as silk, linen and cashmere. Other 16 doll outfits such as those by the Franklin Mint, All About Eve, or Madame Alexander’s Alex should also fit her body sculpt. This is the “Florentine” doll, released in 2002 as a limited edition of 1500 pieces. It features Tyler in a beautiful cream beaded brocade skirt suit, with a fur trimmed jacket. She has a crown of brown curls and white lace up heels. She does not have her rhinestone necklace. All pictures are of the actual item that you will be receiving, even the ones with her out of her box. Her clothing shows no signs of damage or fading. The box has some cosmetic damage to the surface from storage and the label is missing. Paper elements may have some discoloration. Some artificial materials, adhesives or elastics might have degraded over time but were not tested.
